Happy Friday! Oh yeah, do the happy dance!
If you’ve been following my blog, you know that every Friday I report to guys something that makes me smile or sparks my interest during the week.
When I was younger and my metabolism was AWESOME, I would snack on anything and everything. I remember coming home after school and heating up Bagel Bites. Yes, my friends, Bagel Bites as a SNACK…not dinner. Some of my other pastime favorites were chips, sunflower seeds, any sort of Little Debbie and the occasional ice cream cone.
Nowadays, I don’t snack nearly the same as I did when I was younger, mainly because all of those things are very unhealthy. Now, I’m not saying I steer clear from them 100%, but I do my best to choose healthier and more nutritional options.
I have to tell you guys that I actually discovered these Über Larabar’s a few weeks back when I was watching an episode of The Biggest Loser. The winner from last season, Danni Allen, did a short promotion for the bars and she totally sucked me into purchasing them. I’m sure glad she did because these little bars are the perfect sweet and salty snack.
Every single day I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and I also try to throw in at least one or two healthy snacks as well. These little bars are great for an afternoon pick-me-up and provide the energy I’m needing right before an afternoon workout. They are made with whole fruits and nuts and only consist of 220 calories.
I’ve only tried the Roasted Nut Roll, but I’d also like to try the Dark Chocolate Peanut and Dark Chocolate Turtle. So, do yourself a favor and go pick up a box…or two!
While we’re speaking of snacks, another favorite of mine is Chobani Greek Yogurt. I’ve tried other brands of Greek yogurt, but nothing compares to the creaminess of Chobani. My favorite flavors are vanilla, pomegranate, lemon and pineapple.
I usually eat them just as they are, but sometimes I add nuts and fruits or even throw them into a smoothie. Chobani yogurts provide more protein than other yogurts and are also made of only natural ingredients. The picture above is from my morning snack. Today I mixed in honey-roasted cashews and it was delicious!
